Thankful for the unexpected

Today my plans completely changed when the bus I was waiting for to take to camp, never came.  I had to go to "plan B."  Thankfully God has been teaching me much about flexibility and surrender during my time here.  So, I called a friend and ended up doing what I was going to do on Thursday today instead.  I also had the opportunity to go to coffee with a local friend.  I was able to finish some cleaning/organizing at the Center.  And then, have enjoyed some of this evening journaling and catching up with friends.
God used the time I spent working at my friends' house for an unexpected blessing as well.  I had an unexpected conversation that ended with this long-term worker asking me if she could pr/y for me.  I was blown away at her willingness to share some of the "life-wisdom" that God gave her and then to pr/y with me about the future.  I wasn't planning on talking much but simply working on projects.  But she simply took the time to listen and challenge me and care.  Thank you God for this unexpected blessing today!
This afternoon, I was not thinking I'd be able to go to coffee with a local friend but because I missed the bus, this opportunity opened back up.  So, I went and we sat and enjoyed some time together.  She is such a special young lady.  She works very hard and seeks to live in a way that honors God.  She wanted to invite me to go with her today to meet some people she'd never met because she couldn't trust her other friends to go with her.  It is amazing how much locals here seem to value relationships with us.  They notice something different in us.  One day I hope they make the connection that it's JC that makes the difference in our lives.
Today I am also thankful for the energy God gave to do a lot of clean-up and organizing since the team left.  The team did some great renovations at the Center and consequently, there was a lot of things to re-organize.  God has supplied the energy needed to get things back in order and cleaned.  Thank you Father!
