Snapshots from the past two weeks!

We spent several days for retreat/annual meetings near the beach on the Adriatic Sea.  It was a beautiful, peaceful spot and provided some much-needed time to de-stress and be refreshed.
We tried to get a picture of the sunset but instead catch a glimpse of the moon (behind us).
The beach was beautiful.  After being sick all day Sunday, it was good to get out again and enjoy the beautiful place!

Fun times together after a long, challenging summer!

Last Tuesday, we toured an old castled.  (Look! -- a fig tree is growing out of the wall)
Wednesday morning I headed out to take a bus, ferry, and another bus to visit my friends in a town in the north.

The small boat that took me up the river!

That night and the next evening I helped the ladies press grapes for grape juice, jam, etc

Relinda and I enjoyed many happy hours playing violin together!

My friends were very gracious and even treated us out to ice cream one evening!
I'm going to miss my young friends :o)

Looks like a beautiful place! Neat that you were able to tour a castle too!

Were you pressing grapes by hand?

Your young friends look very sweet. :)

See you in ONE week!!

Hi Anna!
Yes! The castle was really cool! We were just reminiscing tonight while we looked at pictures.
Yes, we pressed the grapes by hand. It was quite the experience! It got a bit tiring but overall it was fun to help. We made about half a barrel of pressed grapes from it. It gives me a bigger appreciation for grape juice and the huge amount of work it takes just to squeeze enough for one bottle. A lot of people here do it though. They grow their own vines and then press their grapes when they are ripe.
Can't wait to see you!
Love,
Lydia
