Work Projects at Camp

"Cleaning" (removing nails and cement) and organizing boards

Digging dirt from around a future building
Filling dirt in to move the "wood storage" platform
Keith breaking up a large rock to use the pieces for a project

The girl's tent where Jenelle and I stayed

A beautiful wild flower with light purple, white and yellow
Placing beams for a temporary tin roof on the second floor of the Blessing House

"Cleaning" (scraping the cement off the boards used for forming pillars).

Jenelle cleaning a board -- Good work!

A newly set bolt for climbing!
Jenelle and I glued and set six bolts for the climbing routs near camp

The square metal things are called "forms" used for forming new pillars.  We scrapped the old cement off to prepare for setting new pillars this summer.
One of the places we will pour a new cement pillar for then next floor.

Putting a roof on the "bird's next"

Yeah, roofing experience can come in handy here :o)

The "bird's next" sits just behind the volleyball net and up the hill from the playing field.  It will be a nice place to gather, eat meals around the campfire, etc.
We tried out the new serving area that was put in this week.  Pam is a great cook and has a servant's heart as she prepares delicious meals and snacks for us.

L-R -- Austin, Keith, Pam, Christopher, enjoying a good meal together!
This week at camp was spent working on many projects.  We ate breakfast at 6am, lunch around 11:30am, and supper around 6pm.  In the evenings we played games or went for a walk.  Some nights we turned in early.  It was a good week of work!  I enjoyed working with the team and helping with the projects.  These work projects are helping make improvements that will serve many future groups that come to camp!  Next week we plan to do more work projects as we prepare for a large group of 60+ coming in the week of July 4th.  It's exciting to be a part of it all!
